A Life SO Ordinary

~I AM 18 TODAY~

I am finally a legal adult. Although Shan thinks that i don't act like one, and i kinda had to agree on that one because I really dont. Yea sure I'm "responsible", but all to often i don't practice that responsibility. That's ok though because I figure you have to live and learn, and I'm only 18 so I have about 12 more years until i have to be a stuffy responsible adult (my apologies to those 30 and older who're reading this).

I had a long talk with my dad today about my grandfather and his life. I have mentioned this before, but i feel that everyone can benefit from hearing this more than once in their life. I wish that my grandpa could have lived longer so that I could have asked him the more important things about his life. When my dad and i were talking he was telling me that my grandpa had an IQ of 146; he was a Russian linguist and while he was in the military he was a spy and afterwards he was supposed to go to work for the CIA, but his drinking problem was an obstacle for a long time until he realized he needed help. He owned various businesses throughout his life and he was a good business man. I remember him as a sweetie who would help me with things like homework and tieing my shoes. He would also sing this song to all of us (John, Retta, Mel, and I): "I love you a bushel and a peck/A bushel and a peck/and a hug aroung the neck!" Those memories are some of the best i have of him and I always remember them around September because that was his birthday month and i don't want him to completely vanish from my mind. I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!
I had to stop talking about him because I was about to cry.

Last night i went out with a group of people and we had so much fun. We were having such a great time. Mel and her friend Jeff also came and I got a balloon out of the deal because of my birthday so i was pleased. Then when I went to go to the truck to go home I realized i had misplaced my keys... We (Jeff, Mel, and I) went in and out of Appleby's 3 times looking for the damn things. Then Jeff finds them in the grass between parking lots only to discover that he has also lost his keys! We eventually found them in Mel's purse (we told her they were in there, but she didn't believe us (Jeff and I)).

Mel went home with Jeff because she had a friend coming over soon and I still wanted to stop by Blockbuster to watch movies until midnight so that i would be awake when I turned 18. I ended up renting Elizabeth and the Disney cartoon Atlantis.

Disney Cartoons rock by the way. I don't think there is one that I didn't like out there. Really. I live for Disney cartoons. Theres this new one coming out called Finding Nemo and it has these fish in it... I'm gonna drag Mel and Shan and Blake with me to see that one!
My big day is at an end and I felt that i had a good day. Better than the all the rest!!!
